Is any romance good romance? It’s an interesting kind of philosophical question that Faith (implicitly) posed to me last week and Undergrad made me consider again this last Wednesday. Like, is seeing Haddie hook up with a should be gay Ezra Miller good romance? And was what we saw this week really “romance” at all? I mean, I know Faith (and probably some other people) will be happy with the increased Ezra Miller screen time….and I know I should be happy with it too. I just…find their relationship kind of icky? Can I say that? Like, what is wrong with me? I was a complete Noel/Felicity shipper. This should be the same thing, right?
And I should be happy with the Alexi/Amanda stuff. It was kind of cute. Considering I can get on board with Bay/Tank right in the face of Bemmett (don’t know what I’m talking about? Then you’re missing out on life), I should be able to simply enjoy seeing their cute moments and what not. But this is just not what I want for my poor Nat Wolff. I know Alexi/Cara is endgame and I need to be more patient. And why have I attached so quickly to Cara anyways? I have much more an allegiance to Lux, theoretically (yes, I do still rewatch Life Unexpected scenes, like five years later. Yes, that happens), but there’s something about Hurd-Wood’s performance that just shines about Britt Robertson’s. Though I do feel terrible saying that.
So yeah, that was romance this week. Kind of disappointing. Between that and all the mechanics of invisibility nonsense—which I continue to refuse to talk about—it was a frustrating week for me. On the bright side, I did get lots of Cara/Ava, who are quickly rivalling Hannah/Amy as my favourite tv best friends pairing. That scene at the end in Cara’s dorm room was so sweet. I never loved Melinda Shankar on Degrassi—I was more of a Jordan Todosey fan—but she’s doing good work here. She really nailed that last moment.
Other things? Well, no Adam Brody this week, unfortunately. He must be off planning his wedding with Blair, which is excusable, but just barely, considering he managed to make time for New Girl and he’s not even a regular on that show. Oh, and the Munro Chambers cameo marks our random Canadian actor appearance of the week as well as a mini (non-scene sharing) Degrassi reunion, which I would care more about, except I absolutely hate Eli. Yeah, that’s about it. I was more frustrated/disappointed than I would have liked this week. LESS INVISIBILITY, MORE CALEXI NEXT WEEK PLEASE!
Is this a tv series? Where can I watch it?
I did a thing. It’s a thing. Look at the thing.
Don’t fucking take the thing unless you like or reblog it plz xo
